Future

I believe in an inclusive, united Sri Lanka for all its people, animals and sentient beings. I believe in the Buddhist doctrine of Mindfulness and seek its return to prominence here. I believe in my country and our undervalued potential.

I have spent a lifetime contributing toward the change I wish to see. Sometimes it has worked, other times I find we are up against a system of corruption that is so broken, it fails the majority of people.

Because of the many acknowledgements, tributes and connections I have made here, I’ve learned that my voice matters. Through my work I see first-hand the need to speak up for the voiceless, to coexist and to promote strong moral foundations and values in all that we do. I believe my values reflect a progressive, relevant and sustainable national direction for Sri Lanka. Our country is rarely free from crisis and I believe that development at any cost is detrimental toward the long-term viability and growth of our true wealth – which is found in our natural resources. A system that protects a few at the cost of many has become increasingly difficult for those with low incomes to advance as every Sri Lankan deserves to.

My voice, my heart and my work is entirely dedicated toward positive, lasting progress in my country. Let us work together, and drive the change that we wish to see in the world and in our world.
