Sri Lanka’s fashion icon Otara, is among the high profile list of celebs including football stars, Bollywood stars and other prominent personalities who have pledged their support to the Carter work project which is currently underway in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Led by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn Carter, a large number of dignitaries and volunteers from around the world as well as Habitat homeowners will spend this week repairing 166 homes in Thailand, Vietnam, China, Cambodia and Laos. Habitat for Humanity is an organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing. Otara was recently appointed ambassador for Habitat for Humanity and will work closely with the organization to improve the living conditions of people in Sri Lanka. The Carter work project is her first build engagement.
