As Patron of the Campaign to End Corporal Punishment 20/20, Otara along with well-known cricketer Sidath Wettimuny, handed over a petition to His Excellency, the President Maithripala Sirisena to end corporal punishment in all schools. This was followed by a Walk at Independence Square where many like-minded and compassionate citizens joined in making a change to end corporal punishment in Sri Lanka.
